Bad News for Obama From the New York Times

 

But February made me shiver
With every paper I’d deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

President Obama got his own bad news on the doorstep at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It came not in February but September – on page one of The New York Times no less.

Under a headline that read, “In Poll, Support for Obama Slips Among Base,” this is how the story began:

“President Obama’s support is eroding among elements of his base, and a yearlong effort to recapture the political center has failed to attract independent voters, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll, leaving him vulnerable at a moment when pessimism over the country’s direction is greater than at any other time since he took office.”

 

It’s a safe bet that bad news like that is making a lot of folks in the West Wing shiver.

The poll came out just a few days after the president got a double dose of bad news when Democrats lost two special elections for House seats in New York and Nevada. “Both races turned into a referendum on President Obama, who again proved how unpopular he is,” as Karl Rove put it in the Wall Street Journal.

The New York district, Charles Schumer and Andrew Weiner’s old district in Queens, has been in Democratic hands since 1923. If a Democrat can lose in that district, a Democrat can lose anywhere. And they know it!

Just one day after those twin losses, a Field Poll came out in California, where the president has always done well, no matter how crummy he had been doing on less friendly places. Not anymore.

“For the first time since Obama became president in January 2009, fewer than half (46 percent) of California voters approve of his performance as president -- a figure that's dropped eight percentage points in three months,” as The San Francisco Chronicle put it.

There’s more.

A Bloomberg poll shows that a majority of Americans don’t believe the president’s $447 billion job plan will help lower the unemployment rate – and, according to Bloomberg, “Americans disapprove of his handling of the economy by 62 percent to 33 percent.”

As they might say in Shumer and Weiner’s old district, which is heavily Jewish: “Oy Vey.”

According to the New York Times/CBS News poll, Obama is losing support all over the place – especially among the group he most needs -- independents. According to the Times: 

“The president’s support has fallen to its lowest levels across parts of the diverse coalition of voters who elected him, from women to suburbanites to college graduates. And a persistent effort over the past year to reclaim his appeal to independent voters has shown few changes of bearing fruit, with 59 percent of this critical electoral group voicing there disapproval.” 

Compare that to 2008, when Barack Obama won the independents 52 percent to 44 percent for John McCain.

Here’s the president’s dilemma: If he tries to drum up support among his progressive base, he will lose even more independents. If he tries to win the independents, his base will become even more disillusioned.
Bad news on the doorstep, indeed.

To paraphrase my political "Guardian Angel", Ronald Reagan, "It's morning in America" and we HAVE BEEN AWAKENED! The "gig is up, the ruse is out", (thank you to the group, Styx), we are on to you Barry. No more socialism. No more government control. No more "Big Brother" (or is it, in this case, "Big Brotha"?) No more "social engineering". No more "feeling my pain" as you inflict more. (Guess Barry is the S&M President). But, most of all, NO MORE SPENDING US INTO OBLIVION!!!

Veterans Allege VA Censoring Prayer

HOUSTON - Local veterans say the Department of Veterans Affairs is consistently censoring their prayers, banning them from saying the words "God," and "Jesus" during funeral services at Houston National Cemetery.

Three separate organizations have come forward complaining the cemetery's director and other government officials are violating the First Amendment. Members from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion and the National Memorial Ladies all complain of "religious hostility" at the cemetery.

On Tuesday they told a federal judge what's been going on there.

"People are doing things out there that I feel like they shouldn't be," said Jim Rodgers, a Vietnam veteran.

"We are private citizens in a private organization, and yet we are restricted from saying what our ritual calls for," said John Spahr, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A 26-page complaint outlines the allegations. According to the court papers, the cemetery's director, Arleen Ocasio, bans the word "God" and requires prayers to be submitted for government approval.

"We were told we could no longer say "God bless you" and "God bless your family," said Marilyn Koepp, a volunteer with the National Memorial Ladies.

The group attends about 60 funerals a week to honor veterans and console families.

"How did I feel? I probably shouldn't say how I felt because it was absolutely apalling that this woman would come aboard and tell us we can not say 'God bless you,'" said Koepp.

Nobleton Jones felt belittled when he says a government official told him he couldn't use the word "God" in his recitation to a family as he handed them a bag of shell casings from a gun salute.

"I tell the people, 'We ask that God grant you and your family grace, mercy and peace,’ That forth has been censored," said Jones.

Attorneys with the Liberty Institute began investigating last month after a local pastor won his fight to say his "Jesus" prayer at the cemetery's Memorial Day ceremony.

"When we investigated we determined the government and the director are discriminating based upon religious viewpoint," said Jeff Mateer, general counsel for Liberty Institute.

Ocasio couldn't be reached for comment. Assistant U.S. Attorney Fred Hinrichs told the judge:

"We're in the process of going through the claims. Some are true, and some are not true."

What's more, the veterans allege the VA turned the chapel into a meeting room shortly after the director came on board two years ago.

They say they won't back down from the fight.

"I am going to say 'God bless you' until I don't know what would make me ever stop it," said Koepp.

So far the complaints appear to be isolated to the Houston National Cemetery. The government has until the middle of next month to respond to the allegations.

The Democratic Party and the Obama Administration seem to be continuing their "War On GOD". Like most socialistic and communistic organizations, the first attack is on any Deity the populous believes in. They want the only worshiping going on to be towards the "State" and the party controlling it. Unfortunately, once that occurs, the "party" then begins acting like a very vengefulDeity by destroying anything or anyone that may threaten their self appointed status. So, instead of being "Alpha and Omega...the beginning and the end", they are more like the "fallen" one. The Obama-ites, with their arrogance and condescension, need to have their own "Armageddon" and, GOD willing, it will happen on November, 2012.

Chris Matthews Smears: Bachmann's Praise for the Founders Equals 'Slavery'

 

After playing a clip of Michele Bachmann longing for a return to the "Founders' vision of a constitutionally conservative government," MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Monday assumed the Republican presidential candidate meant "slavery."

The Hardball anchor offered bizarre analogies, questioning former RNC Chair Michael Steele on Bachmann's 2012 campaign: "What is this, Michael? The Protestant Reformation? That somehow we're going back to the purity of the original Christian church?"

Immediately jumping to the worst interpretation, Matthews continued, "We're going back to the original perfection of slaveholders and how perfect they were and government is the enemy. She speaks pure Tea Party lingo."

 

After Steele asserted that Bachmann was simply "reminding us of foundational principles," the liberal anchor smeared, "What? Slavery?"

Matthews, who previously trashed the Republican as a "zombie" and a "nutcase," weirdly critiqued Fox News host Chris Wallace for wondering if Bachmann was a "flake."

The MSNBC journalist chastised, "I think [Wallace] hurt her feelings there. A very human moment there, I know Michele Bachmann a little bit as a human being."

STEELE: She's not going back to the purity of the old days.

MATTHEWS: Yes, she is.

STEELE: It's reminding us of some of the foundational principles.

STEELE: What? Slavery?

MATTHEWS: Well, that was in the original founding principles.

STEELE: Please, Chris. Stop. Stop jumping in. You know that's not what this is about. And the reality is, when I became chairman of the RNC in 2009, I inherited a party that was lost. Its moorings not anchored as they once were. And, so, you've have candidates now who have emerged out of the last two years who understand by going around the country and listening to the people what some of those foundational issues are for them. Let me speak to that.

Let's go on, because I think Chris Wallace in his favor was trying to use the language other people were using. It wasn't his thought,  but it came across as his thought and that's why, after the show ended, Wallace apologized for the question he put. And I know how you get in these situations. Not exactly this way, but he got in it this way.

Chris Matthews has made some pretty shocking comments over the years. Unfortunately, those comments are becomming more bizarre. He is nothing more but pure hatred. He has to be the angriest man in American media. Even with his side in control, he can't control himself from spewing his venom time and time again. I believe he is at a point when his hayred has consumed him so much that he is become mentally derranged. It is time for him to be cut loose from NBC.

Changing Tides: Research Center Under Fire for 'Adjusted' Sea-Level Data

Is climate change raising sea levels, as Al Gore has argued -- or are climate scientists doctoring the data?

The University of Colorado’s Sea Level Research Group decided in May to add 0.3 millimeters -- or about the thickness of a fingernail -- every year to its actual measurements of sea levels, sparking criticism from experts who called it an attempt to exaggerate the effects of global warming.

"Gatekeepers of our sea level data are manufacturing a fictitious sea level rise that is not occurring," said James M. Taylor, a lawyer who focuses on environmental issues for the Heartland Institute.

 Steve Nerem, the director of the widely relied-upon research center, told FoxNews.com that his group added the 0.3 millimeters per year to the actual sea level measurements because land masses, still rebounding from the ice age, are rising and increasing the amount of water that oceans can hold.

"We have to account for the fact that the ocean basins are actually getting slightly bigger... water volume is expanding," he said, a phenomenon they call glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA).

Taylor calls it tomfoolery.

"There really is no reason to do this other than to advance a political agenda," he said.

Climate scientist John Christy, a professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, said that the amount of water in the ocean and sea level were two different things.

"To me… sea level rise is what's measured against the actual coast," he told FoxNews.com. "That's what tells us the impact of rising oceans."

Taylor agreed.

"Many global warming alarmists say that vast stretches of coastline are going to be swallowed up by the sea. Well, that means we should be talking about sea level, not about global water volume."

In e-mails with FoxNews.com, Nerem indicated that he considered "sea level rise" to be the same thing as the amount of water in the ocean.

"If we correct our data to remove [the effect of rising land], it actually does cause the rate of sea level (a.k.a. ocean water volume change) rise to be bigger," Nerem wrote. The adjustment is trivial, and not worth public attention, he added.

"For the layperson, this correction is a non-issue and certainly not newsworthy… [The] effect is tiny -- only 1 inch over 100 years, whereas we expect sea level to rise 2-4 feet."

But Taylor said that the correction seemed bigger when compared with actual sea level increases.

"We’ve seen only 7 inches of sea level rise in the past century and it hasn’t sped up this century. Compared to that, this would add nearly 20 percent to the sea level rise. That's not insignificant," he told FoxNews.com.

Nerem said that the research center is considering compromising on the adjustment.

"We are considering putting both data sets on our website -- a GIA-corrected dataset, as well as one without the GIA correction," he said.

Christy said that would be a welcome change.

"I would encourage CU to put the sea level rate [with] no adjustment at the top of the website," he said.

Taylor’s takeaway: Be wary of sea level rise estimates.

"When Al Gore talks about Manhattan flooding this century, and 20 feet of sea level rise, that’s simply not going to happen. If it were going to happen, he wouldn’t have bought his multi-million dollar mansion along the coast in California."

As time goes by, the evidence, and the hucksters, of global warming are being shown for what it is and what they are. The last paragraph sums up the entire subject. Al Gore and his man-made global warming buddies are dangerous people. They are scammers who are trying to consolidate power and control over all of us.

Illegal Immigrant Arrested in Death of Texas Police Officer

HOUSTON - There's new information on the drunken driving suspect responsible for the death of a Houston police officer over the weekend.

At a probable cause court late Sunday night, it was revealed that Johoan Rodriguez is in the country illegally.

Police say Rodriguez was drunk when he drove his car into a road block, striking and killing an officer with the Houston Police Department .

He had .3 grams of cocaine in his pocket along with an alcohol level of .238, according to HPD.

Rodriguez has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter of a peace officer, felony evading, and possession of a controlled substance.

The suspect did not appear in court because he’s still in the hospital being treated for his own injuries.

A judge refused to give Rodriguez any kind of bond, and his first court date was set for Wednesday.

Houston police officer Kevin Will started his shift joking with fellow officers that he wasn't a rookie anymore.

He had no idea on his one year anniversary in the "vehicular crimes division" he would be hit and killed by an accused drunk driver.

He died a hero. The 38-year old officer couldn't get out of the path of an alleged drunk driver, but the officer did save a citizen's life.

“He credits officer Will with giving him the prior warning of yelling 'get out of the way,’” HPD Chief Charles McClelland told the media Sunday afternoon. “It actually saved his life.”

Officer Will was on the 610 North Loop at Yale at 3:45 Sunday morning, investigating a hit and run accident involving a motorcycle. Officers were interviewing witnesses, and the freeway was blocked off and barricaded by a police car.

Houston police say 26-year old Johoan Rodriguez drove a silver Volkswagen bug right past the barricade, slamming into and killing Officer Will.

“He loved his work, and gave is life to this city trying to keep it safe on such an important weekend where we highlight all men and women who wear uniforms,” said Chief McClelland.

It was this same day, early Sunday morning Memorial weekend 2009, when Houston Police officer Lloyd Morrison was investigating a DWI accident. He was hit and also run over by two different drunk drivers.

Officer Kevin Will leaves behind his wife, who is 6 months pregnant, and their two kids -- ages 6 and 10.

DC Liberals Sign Petition to Ban Conservative Websites

 

After hearing news the other day that the Obama administration had appointed a new position to monitor and push back against negative online press we thought some liberals in DC might think it wasn't enough. So we sent Joe Schoffstall out to see just how far liberals would go to silence conservative speech. Joe went around Georgetown in DC with a petition to "Ban Conservative Hate Sites". Here is what went down.

Although I had the overwhelming feeling of wanting to gloat, I thought about it for a while and that feeling left me. It was replaced, initially, with the feeling of concern which progressed to anger and outrage! We have raised a generation full of STUPIDITY! Do these idiots think that "controlled speech" is appropriate? Are they so dumb to believe once you head down that road of oppression it doesn't become a runaway rollarcoaster? Maher: America Needs “A Class War”

Bill Maher was his usual understated self on Real Time tonight, urging everyday Americans to begin "a class war" on Wall Street. And he illustrated the need for such a fight by drawing a comparison to the backlash received by one Charlie Sheen after his disastrous show in Detroit.

Here was the common ground Maher found between what Sheen’s Detroit audience said, and what America as a whole should say: “This is bullshit, and I want my money back.” And after a mini-digression into the idiocy of paying to go see Sheen, Maher circled back around to the class topic:

“And if you think a guy living large, and rubbing your nose in it that you’re not, is funny, here’s one you’ll really love: you have to pay your taxes next week,  and General Electric doesn’t.”

Taking the Sheen analogy a step further, Maher suggested, “I’ve already got your money, dude” as a slogan for the U.S. economy, demonstrating how it might apply to credit card companies and “too big to fail” bailout money recipients. And we won’t spoil Maher’s last line, but we’ll say that porn stars and Red Lobster are both involved somehow. Video of a pretty strong effort from Maher – again, making Charlie Sheen a worthy topic of discussion is no easy task at this point – below, via HBO.

Does he mean like the class war Hollywood has declared on the poor and homeless in Los Angeles? The same Hollywood who would go into an area wear there are 10,000 homeless and have them locked into buildings because Hollywood is in the area filming. Who would do NOTHING in regards to helping them find employment? The same Hollywood who use the streets of Los Angeles as a studio and tell area residents the are not allowed to go to their homes or prevent people from getting to their jobs? Well, I think this butt hole and his brethren have already done that!

Bill Maher Calls Sarah Palin a Female Vulgarism, NOW Stays Mum

 

Bill Maher uttered a female vulgarism when referring to former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin on his HBO show Friday night.

“Did you hear this – Sarah Palin finally heard what happened in Japan and she’s demanding that we invade ‘Tsunami,’” Maher said. “I mean she said, ‘These ‘Tsunamians’ will not get away with this.’ Oh speaking of dumb tw**s, did you...”

Maher was offering an imagined Palin response in an apparent attempt at humor, as Palin had made no such statement.

The National Organization for Women (NOW) refused to comment on Maher’s use of the derogatory term. A rep told FOXNews.com it is a “known fact” that NOW does not correspond with FOX News.

Other women's groups and publications did not have such policies in place.

“Widespread sexism in the media is one of the top problems facing women, and seriously affects women in politics. A highly toxic media environment persists for women candidates, and discourages all women – irrespective of political persuasion - from running for public office,” Yana Walton, Vice President of Communications at Women's Media Center told FOXNews.com. “Despite the fact that women make up half of the population, we're only 17 percent of congress. Bill Maher's misogynistic comment about Sarah Palin hurts all women, not just Palin, and not just conservative women. By insulting her gender, rather than her platform or stance on issues, he insults women as a group.”

Terry Dougherty, editor of Women magazine, said “[Maher's] choice of words shows an enormous lack of respect for women. If his preceding joke had been about a man, I can't imagine him using an equally derogatory term to describe a male. That type of language shows a lack of consideration toward women."

Matthew Vadum, Senior Editor at the Capital Research Center in Washington DC, said Maher’s insults spotlight hypocrisy in the media.

"Bill Maher feels he can get away with such jaw-droppingly offensive verbal attacks on Sarah Palin because virtually the entire media-academia-entertainment complex agrees with him,” Vadum said. “Clinging to their political correctness and disdain for her quintessentially American values, the left-wing cocktail circuit regards Palin as a punch line.”

So if a prominent media figure had made such a disparaging remark towards a leading female Democrat, like Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, would the mainstream media have reacted with outrage?

“If a conservative used that language to describe Hillary Clinton, we wouldn't be hearing very much about Japan or Libya,” said John Ziegler, creator the documentary “Media Malpractice.” “If they said it about Michelle Obama, the media would be going 24/7 with the story.”

"I suspect NOW hasn't come to Palin's defense because the group agrees with Maher,” added Vadum. “After all, NOW didn't have a problem with someone on California Gov. Jerry Brown's campaign staff calling his Republican opponent Meg Whitman a 'whore.' NOW really ought to change its name to National Organization for Liberal Women because as far as it's concerned conservative women aren't real women at all.”

We already know , that Bill Maher is one of the most arrogant. hateful, useless people on Earth. But, this article shows that NOW is NOT about "women", its about "ultra-liberal" women. Women who are committed to promotion of "ultra-liberal" views, lesbianism, a male minimized, female dominated society.
